BALCERZAK, MARY , 71, a lifelong resident of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.

Born in Weinsberg, Germany, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Josephine (Antoniak) Balcerzak.

Mary immigrated to America and grew up on Capron Street with 3 siblings. She was devoted to her parents, family, and to the Catholic Church. She loved holidays, traditions, family get-togethers, and gift giving. She never arrived with an empty hand.

She spent decades as a dedicated parishioner to Our Lady of Czenstochowa. She loved music - especially singing hymns and relished her years in the church choir.  Mary loved the Polish community, making Polish dishes, and always looked forward to the yearly festivals and events held by the school and church.

Mary loved all her grandbabies beyond measure. Being a Babci and a Ciocia was possibly her proudest feat. She eagerly awaited any opportunity to bask in the presence of her grandkids. Her heart overflowed anytime they were present.

Throughout her life she made every attempt to show love and kindness to those less fortunate.  From a young age she would help her parents assist Polish relatives coming to America. This help, care, and concern for others extended beyond her childhood into her final days providing what she could to those without.

Mary was the loving mother of Tammy DeCesare, Christina Booth, Leanne DeCesare, and Mark Antoniak. Adoring grandmother of Israel, Ireland, Elijah, Justis, Oliver, and Everly. She was also the sister of Eileen Collins, Theresa Smith, and the late Johnny Balcerzak. Mary is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family.

Mary’s Funeral will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington Street, Coventry, RI.
