May Esther (Stauff) Crane, 73, went home to her Lord and Savior, on March 8, 2021. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, May was the daughter of the late William Alexander and Charlotte A. (Thorpe) Stauff.

May attended the Park View Junior High School and Cranston East High School, where she played the flute in both the orchestra and the band. May devoted her working career helping people, first as a Nursing Assistant and then a Mental Health worker for over 25 years. She worked at several nursing homes, hospitals, and as a private duty nurse. May was a lifelong poet and charter member of the Rhode Island Poetry Society. She was an artist and song writer of gospel and country music. An accomplished flute, guitarist and pianist, May was the pianist at many local churches.

May is survived by her brothers, William J. Stauff, and Reverend Leonard C. Stauff, her sisters, Margaret A. Stauff, Betty J. Blair and Ruth McKnight, her nieces and nephews: Melanie McKnight, Josh and Richie Blair, Will Stauff, Heidi Jones, Annalise, Derrick, and Devan Stauff and several great nieces and nephews.

May was predeceased by her dear friend, Norman Coffey, their one year together, made her life complete.

Visitation on Friday, March 12, beginning at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral home service at 11 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick.

Burial will be in the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown, RI.
