Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn starred in the spy thriller “The Interpreter.”

Don Cheadle and Sandra Bullock were among the many stars in the all-time classic movie, “Crash.”

“Star Wars: Episode III-Revenge of the Sith” was the big hit of the summer.

The Whodunnit Murder Mystery Theatre performed “Murder in the Court” starring Geri Sereno, Carol Allen and Stephen Bruno, and directed by Tony Annicone at Warwick’s Crowne Plaza.

We reviewed Thayer Street’s Greek restaurant, Andrea’s, which has opened and closed a number of times over the years. We went across the street and reviewed Kabob and Curry, which is still going strong.

We also reviewed Cherrystones in Oakland Beach (Now the site of Top of the Bay). It was at this popular Warwick restaurant that we were introduced to tilapia, which has become one of our favorite fish.

Chuck E. Cheese in Warwick had giant hot dogs for $1.79.

Remember the Pewter Pot in Midland Mall? They had liver and onions for$4.25.

Alvaro Cassuto led the RI Philharmonic in a Viennese pops concert at PPAC. PPAC also had the Temptations and the Four Tops.

Gallagher was at PPAC.

Cristopher Durang’s “Marriage of Bette and Boo” was at the now defunct 2nd Story Theatre. It starred JM Richardson, Jim Sullivan and Lara Hakeem.

“Smoky Joe’s Café” was at PPAC, followed by “Movin’ Out,” with 24 songs by Billy Joel.

Chelo’s had a dozen clam cakes for $5.98.

Trinity presented the hilarious “The Buzz Gem Blues” starring Timothy Crowe.

40 Years Ago

Anthony Edwards starred in “Gotcha.”

Chuck Norris starred in “Code of Silence.”

Mia Farrow starred in Woody Allen’s “The Purple Rose of Cairo.”

Richard Kneeland starred in Noel Coward’s “Present Laughter” at Trinity Rep.

Bob Colonna and Lindy Nettleton starred in “My Fat Friend” at the Newport Playhouse.

The Shrine Circus was at the Cranston Ice Rink. Tickets were $5, $2.50 for kids.

Bassett’s Inn on West Shore Rd. had prime rib for $8.95, including their famous salad bar with marinated mushrooms.

Celestino’s on West Shore Rd. had fish and chips for $1.99.

Vallee’s had a Maine lobster dinner for$8.95.

Bickford’s in Cranston had a Thursday night special omelet with three fillings plus French fries for $2.99.

L’Apogee restaurant, high atop the Biltmore Hotel, had prime rib for $13.75.
