Michael J. McAloon, a proud United States Air Force Veteran, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Margaret A. ‘Maggie’ (DeCiutiis) McAloon to whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Providence, he was one of eight children born to the late Joseph and Mary A. (Cafferky) McAloon.
Following his Air Force service, Michael continued to proudly serve his country and its veterans for 36 years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
A quiet and humble man, Michael found joy in the simple things in life. He enjoyed reading, cheering on his favorite New England Sports team and ending the day with big bowl of ice cream. A man of great integrity, he put a lot of thought into what he had to say and was always sincere and genuine with his words. He will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege to know and love him.
Michael was the devoted father of Christopher McAloon, and his wife Kiley, and the proud ‘Papa’ of Lauren and Allison McAloon. He was the brother of Catherine Rose, Mary Latour, Patricia Riding, Ellen Halliday, Deborah Stamatakos and the late Joan Halliwell and Rosemary O’Donnell. He was the uncle of numerous beloved nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, from 10am-12:30pm with a Funeral Service at 12:30pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Interment with full Military Honors will immediately follow in the RI Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
