Shirley (Albro) I. Morris, 95, of Warwick went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Robert S. Morris, to whom she shared 61 years of marriage.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Maine) Rogers and stepdaughter of Frank Rogers.

Shirley was a billing specialist for several local hospitals for many years prior to her retirement. She was also a cherished member of the Lakewood Baptist Church in Warwick, serving as a Deaconess, Chairman of the Finance Committee and served on other committees for many years. Shirley also sang in the choir and was an active member of the Woman’s Guild.

Shirley enjoyed time knitting, crafting, reading, and playing board and card games with her family. She was also an intense Chinese Checkers and Croquet player. She loved to bake and share her famous cinnamon ring with her family and friends. She enjoyed creating memories and sharing laughs while surrounded by those she loved most. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her two cherished children, Bethany Morris Cherms, and Steven Morris and his wife Marilyn; adored grandchildren, Mindy Morris, Danial Morris (Kali), and Denver Cherms (Erica Lane). And, she was loved as Grandma Shirley by many others as well. She was the beloved mother of the late Alan R. Morris, mother-in-law of David W. Cherms, and dear sister to Edith Cooper.

Relatives and friends are invited to join a service of a Celebration of Life for Shirley on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1pm in the Lakewood Baptist Church.  A private Committal Service will be held in the Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI preceding the Celebration of Life.
