Grace E. (Webster) Newman, 81, of Wakefield, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 28, 2025. She was the wife of the late Ronald Newman.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace (Jones) Webster. She is survived by her children, Kim M. Wilcox and her husband Matthew of Powell, OH, Rhonda J. Woloohojian and her husband M. Peter of East Greenwich, Cynthia L. Doughty and her husband Jason of Warwick, James P. Newman and his wife Alexis of Hope Valley and Ronald Newman, Jr. and his wife Jocelyn of Hope Valley; 16 grandchildren, Ryan, Katherine, Hayley, Menas, Mikhail, Jason Jr., Joshua, Jordan, Claire, Megan, Callum, Mckenzie, Zoe, Mitchell, Madison and Molly; 10 great-grandchildren, Levi, Josie, Ezra, Jamie, Lucas, Cash, Cole, Ronan, Ziggy and Nils and her beloved dog, Tucker. She was predeceased by her 7 siblings.
Grace was the former director of the East Greenwich Housing Authority and spent the next 40 years as the senior property manager at New England Realty Trust, LLC. She was a long-time member of IREM Local 88, NEAHMA and NLHA. She was beloved by her co-workers and was well respected by her peers and business associates at RI Housing and HUD.
Grace was a gifted pianist and composer of many beautiful works. She was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing with her family and her golf buddies. She loved a good game of Scrabble, Yahtzee, puzzles and her favorite nightly episodes of Murder She Wrote and Perry Mason with her faithful companion, Tucker, by her side.
Grace’s family and faith meant everything to her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always there cheering on her children and grandchildren at many a sporting event and various other activities. She loved cooking and baking and made every holiday truly special. She enjoyed volunteering at her church’s food pantry, summer Bible school and many other events. Grace was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be missed dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Grace’s visitation on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the New Hope Chapel, 80 Richmond Townhouse Road, Carolina, RI, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Wood River Cemetery, Hope Valley, RI.
