May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. Carol Pace (Hammond) one of 9 children was born on September 30, 1927, in Fredonia Iowa to Eula (née Russell) and Albert Hammond.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Melvin Pace and sons Michael and Lonnie Pace and granddaughter Stephanie Ann Redmond. She leaves her daughters, Donna Rowe (Cranston), Diana Redmond (Warwick) and Alice Pace and her husband Ned Quist (Warwick). She leaves 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews scattered across the country.

Carol was a home maker until her youngest child was a senior in high school and then went to work in a factory until moving to Arkansas with her husband. She loved playing dominoes, the card game “Spite and Malice” and watching game shows on TV. Carol enjoyed sewing and made everything from quilts to bibs for seniors to “dammit dolls”. An avid traveler Carol visited almost every state in the US and went on several cruises with her daughter Diana. She will be remembered for her kindness and wicked sense of humor.

A memorial service in her honor will be held June 22 at 2pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, 143 Ann Mary Brown Dr., Warwick RI. Burial will be at a later date in Illinois.
