SPECIAL TO THE HERALD
Team Pinkie Swear won the 10-U CLCF/GALS recreational softball championship. The coaching staff was led by three mothers: Kristina Enright, Christine Grimaldi Field and Sydelle Stinson and three dads assisted them: Michael Palumbo, Craig Stinson and Derek Vieira. The female coaches were recruited by the league in an effort to have more female coaches role modeling for the young ladies.
On the mound, Ava Palumbo confidently led the team to the win with 17 strikeouts in the two playoff games they played. She could not have done it without help from her strong catcher, Angie Field.
Hailee Stinson added to the championship game win with some incredible defensive plays and her strong leadership role.
The team is was made up of both experienced and first-year players. The girls bonded well over the season and everyone contributed to achieve the championship win. Friendships were made among both the players and the coaching staff. A true example of what recreational sports should be!
Team Pinkie Swear included: Natalia Volpi, Mia Vieira, Sarah Alnahas, Angie Field, Ava Palumbo, Madison Desmarais, Elliana Johnson, Lyla Marchetti, Abby Grabowski, Elena Correia, Hailee Stinson, Kaylisenny Rodriguez.
