SIMPLE ASSAULT & DISORDERLY CONDUCT
On Dec. 7 at 9:36 p.m., police responded to the report of an assault that had just occurred. The reporting party told police that he was outside his house taking pictures of his Christmas lights when the suspect, later identified as Kevin Brault, 47, of 62 Sherman Ave., North Providence, got out of his car and began “striking [him] in the face multiple times with a closed fist and then left the area,” according to police.
On Dec. 21 at 3:10 a.m., Johnston police responded to the East Providence Police Department to take custody of Brault, who was arrested on his warrant for Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to Johnston Police Headquarters, issued a 3rd District Court Summons, then released without incident.
BENCH WARRANT
On Dec. 20 at 2:30 a.m., police conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a black Nissan Altima traveling northbound on George Waterman Road at approximately 40 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. The officer discovered that the driver, identified as James Wood Jr., 37, of 45 Laban St., Providence, had an active warrant out for Hit and Run from the Pawtucket Police Department.
Wood was arrested on the warrant and transported to Johnston Police Headquarters for processing. He was issued RI Summons for Speeding 1 to 10 MPH in Excess of Posted Speed Limit – 1st offense.
