Police Log 11-28-24

NO TRESPASS ORDER

On Oct. 22 at 9:17 a.m., police responded to Dunkin’ Donuts, 422 Warwick Ave., for a disturbance in progress. Officers noted a man, identified as Rolf Feliz, 34, in the drive-thru “arguing over the cheese being melted on his sandwich,” according to police.

The 22-year-old employee working the drive-thru told police that she wished to pursue a no trespass order against him.

Feliz “was provided with a contact number where he could remedy his complaint internally with Dunkin’ Donuts staff,” according to police. He left the scene without further incident.

 

BENCH WARRANT

On Oct. 22 at 9:52 a.m., officer Nathanial Gray observed a 2013 Honda CRV traveling northbound on Post Road. Officer Gray discovered that the registered owner, Elijah Fenty, 40, 30 Weaver St., West Warwick, was wanted out of Third District Court. Gray confirmed that the driver was Fenty via his DMV photo.

Fenty was to Third District Court, where he was turned over to the custody of the sheriffs.

 

DUI

On Oct. 9 at 1:19 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop at Toll Gate and Providence Street after observing a car cross over both the fog line and double yellow lines. While making contact with the driver, identified as Marcos Viruet, 28, of 21 Penta St., West Warwick, the officer “observed a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle, the operator’s eyes were glossy and bloodshot,” according to police.

Viruet consented to a series of field sobriety tests. Based on his performance during these tests, and on the officer’s observations, the officer placed Viruet under arrest for Driving Under The Influence.

Viruet was transported to Warwick Police Department Headquarters, where he was being while awaiting arraignment.

 

WARRANT ARREST

On Oct. 24 at 9:47 p.m., police observed a black 2005 Chevrolet, which the officer had recognized based on previous interactions with the owner, identified as Scott Blakney, 55, of 491 Broad Rock Road, Wakefield.

After running checks, the officer discovered that Blakney was wanted out of Narragansett Police on felony shoplifting charges.

The officer approached Blakney and advised him of the warrant. He was placed into handcuffs and transported to Warwick Police Headquarters. He was later released into the custody of Narragansett Police.

 

DUI

On Oct. 25 around 1:40 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Route 95 North prior to Exit 31 after observing a vehicle striking the curbing on the right side of the on-ramp twice.

While speaking with the officer, the driver, identified as Xavier Martinez, 32, 185 Linwood Ave., Providence, admitted to not having a valid driver’s license or valid insurance for his vehicle.

The officer “detected a moderate odor of alcohol emanating from his breath,” according to police. Martinez consented to a series of standardized field sobriety tests.

Based on his performance during these tests, Martinez was placed under arrest for Driving Under The Influence and transported to Warwick Police Headquarters.
