Halloween unites Pontiac Village
SETTING THE SCENE: Fall colors gave Pontiac and the Halloween event in the park an autumn glow.
THAT SPIDERMAN POSE: Mayor Joseph Solomon joins Darroch and Eiriana Fairbairn -Summers in taking a Spiderman stance at Saturday’s Halloween party.
NOW THAT’S A TREAT: Nothing like ice cream from Kay’s to round out the Halloween festivities at Pontiac Village Park Saturday.
CENTER OF ATTENTION: As she looks up from a crafts project, Felicity Picinich is surrounded by her mother Victoria Picinich and grandmother and head of the Pontiac Village Association Patricia Picinich.
TIME TO COLOR: Lily Briggs with her mother Renee work on a coloring book at the village Halloween event Saturday at the Pontiac Village Park.
Blanketed by fall leaves, Pontiac Village park was the ideal setting for Saturday’s trunk or treat event hosted by the village association and organized by its president Patricia Picinich. In their roles as Spiderman, witches, devils and ghosts, tick and treaters went from table set up on the park tennis court to fill their bags with candy. There were crafts and the kids got to make faces on foam cutouts of pumpkins. Some couldn’t resist shooting hoops on the basketball court. Picinich has plans for another community event at Christmas, perhaps with carols but maybe not with Santa, as he could be too much of a crowd gathering visitor.
