Local nonprofit Project Undercover is offering free diapers to Rhode Island families impacted by the federal government shutdown. Throughout the shutdown, furloughed federal workers living in Rhode Island can contact Project Undercover to arrange a pickup of diapers, baby wipes and feminine products at no cost.
“Project Undercover was established over 25 years ago with the express purpose of helping RI’s children in need. We see helping RI families that are affected by the federal government shutdown as an important use of our resources,” said Richard Fleischer, Board President and Founder of Project Undercover.
Project Undercover is the only organization dedicated exclusively to eliminating emergency diaper need for kids at or below the poverty level in Rhode Island, and provides a vital lifeline for families living in poverty. Last year, the nonprofit supplied more than 400,000 diapers and 40,000 pairs of socks and underwear to local children in need.
Federal employees can contact Project Undercover directly at info@projectundercover.org or by calling 419-8876.
