To the Editor,
With the new 118th Congress fully sworn in now, the work begins to improve the opportunities and living standards for all Americans. Since our House and Senate is controlled by opposite parties, the work ahead will at times be both contentious and hopefully productive.
Paramount is the staggering $30 trillion deficit. We cannot throw billions of dollars at unspecified targets of change if we cannot see vast improvements from past similar expenditures.
The goal this time is to select programs that meet the current criteria of strong improvements in inflation, education, public safety, energy, immigration, housing, women’s rights and civil unrest.
Our standard of living appears to be declining and strong Executive and Congressional action is required soon. Looking ahead a serious recession may becomes a reality driving our current lifestyle to live only with the bear bones necessities.
This message is for Congress to act prudently now.
