RIC shines at Terrier Invitational

Graduate student Oluwafunmibi Yusuff (Providence) placed eighth in the weight throw (15.61m) and 21st in the shot (11.63m) as the Rhode Island College women’s track and field team competed at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic on Saturday afternoon. Junior Bryana Mullin (Warwick) placed 60th in the 800m (2:19.34).

It was an individual meet with no team scoring. There were Div. I, II and III institutions at the meet.

Sophomore Georgerinna Farley (Providence) placed 12th in the weight throw (14.75m) while junior Melissa Mejia (Providence) placed 19th in the weight throw (13.63m).

Freshman Venecia Mills (Providence) placed 28th in the weight throw (12.32m) while freshman Katheryn Biliouris (West Warwick) placed 32nd in the 60m (8.40) and 139th in the 200m (27.45).

Freshman Alissiana Folco (Woonsocket) placed 32nd in the 60m hurdles (9.72) and 141st in the 200m (27.58), followed by sophomore Trinity Hayes (Providence) who placed 71st in the 200m (26.19) and 46th in the 400m (58.75).

Senior Chevell Burgess (Providence) placed 45th in the 60m hurdles (10.40) and 22nd in the triple jump (10.70m) and freshman Imari Riebe (Randolph, MA) placed 30th in the triple jump (9.78m). Freshman Ashleigh Wyrostek (Seekonk, MA) placed 36th in the shot (10.55m).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Open Championship, held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Mass., on Saturday, Feb. 1. (10 a.m.).

Sophomore Edward Garofalo (Newport) placed 19th in the triple jump (13.12m) as the Rhode Island College men’s track and field team competed at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic Saturday afternoon.

It was an individual meet with no team scoring. The meet featured Div. I, II and III institutions.

Sophomore Matthew Thibaudeau (Lincoln) placed 21st in the weight throw (13.94m) while freshman Jared Hemond (Lincoln) placed 24th in the weight throw (13.66m).

Senior Joseph Palazzo (North Providence) placed 30th in the weight throw (12.48m) while junior Avery Williamson (West Warwick) placed 38th in the long jump (5.91m) and 181st in the 200m (24.26).

Senior Jephte Wagnac (Providence) placed 48th in the 400m (50.14) and Freshman Ianique Imboque (Providence) placed 68th in the 800m (1:57.58).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Open Championship, held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Mass., on Saturday, Feb. 1. (10 a.m.).
