Richard A. Flanagan, age 92, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Riverview Health Care Community in Coventry.  He was the husband of Joan M. (Fortin) Flanagan.  They were married for 67 years.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa, a son of the late Thomas J. and Nancy F. (Dowden) Flanagan, he lived in Warwick since 1954.  He was a U.S. Navy Seabee veteran of the Korean War.  He was a member of William Shields, Jr. Post # 43 American Legion.
Mr. Flanagan was employed at Providence Gas Co. for 29 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1993.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven daughters and four sons:  Marie E. Pompei (Anthony), Kathleen A. Miller (Lee), Michael R. Flanagan (Barbara), Margaret M. Marocco, Joseph A. Flanagan, and Letitia R. Flanagan, all of Warwick, Theresa A. Woznicki (Brett) of Minot, ND, James P. Flanagan (Kelly) of Raleigh, NC, Christine E. Flanagan of Warwick, Laureen F. Andrews (David) of West Greenwich, and Peter T. Flanagan of Warwick; twenty-three grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late John Flanagan, Mary Krause, Rose Wilson, Joseph D. Flanagan, Margaret “Marge” Carothers, James Flanagan, Patrick J. DeAngelo, and Patricia A. DeAngelo.
His funeral was held on Thursday, July 28, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.  Burial with military honors was in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich.
