Robert D. Safford, 58 years young, passed away surrounded by his family after an aggressive and sudden illness. Bob was proud to be a member of the United States Marine Corp and was a supporter of first responders.

Bob loved camping, quahogging, country music and the outdoors. He was a big fan of the New England Patriots, and the Boston Red Sox. Bob liked spending time with friends and family. Rocky Point, Narragansett, Galilee, Gillette Stadium, Fenway Park, Scarborough, Cape Cod and Siesta Key were some of his favorite places. All who knew him loved him.

He was born in St. Petersburg, FL and was a son of Jack and Bettie (Sites) Safford of Port Richey, FL; fiancé of Marie Spellman; father of Derek Safford, his mother Carole Pappas, her children Jake and Erika Hodess; brother of Jack Safford (his wife Esterina), Theresa D’Orsi (her husband Bob) and the (late) James Safford; nephews Tyler, Nicholas, Jared, Conner Safford and Christofer D’Orsi.

A visitation will be held Saturday March 20, 2021 from 11a.m.-1p.m. with a service to follow at 1p.m. at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans, 360 Westminster St, Providence, RI 02903, will be appreciated.
