Robert E. Horton, age 83, of Bellman Avenue, Warwick, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020, at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of Madeline E. (Kirby) Horton. They were married for 63 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Herbert V. and Esther (Nelson) Horton, he lived in Warwick for the last 48 years. Mr. Horton was employed as a machinist with Federal Products, now Mahr Federal, in Providence, for 32 years. He retired 15 years ago. From April 1956 to April 1962, he served with the United States Air Force. He taught Judo to fellow service members during his Air Force enlistment.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a granddaughter, Kimberly A. Diamond in California. He was the father of the late Mary T. Diamond and Kathleen A. Horton; the brother of the late Eileen E. Williams and Herbert J. Horton; and the grandfather of the late Steven Diamond.
