Roundup: Middletown swims past Pilgrim girls

FROM STAFF REPORTS The Pilgrim girls swim team fell to Middletown 51-39 on Tuesday.

Kaylee Collins won the 200 and 500 freestyle, while Erin Cassady took first in the backstroke. Kara Lee won the breaststroke as well.

Cassady, Lee, Collins and Charlotte McPherson combined to win the 400 free relay.

Lee went on to take second in the 100 fly while Madison Ventura took second in the back. Madison Tatarian finished second in the breaststroke.

Keaney Bayha, Allison Shaheen, Ventura, and Tatarian combined to place second in the 400 free relay.

Next Tuesday, Feb. 8 is the last home meet at McDermott Pool and is also Senior Night. Senior captains Lee and Collins are set to be honored. BOYS SWIMMING

Hendricken 56, Prout 37

The Hawks continued to stay hot in the pool with a big win over Prout last week.

Matt Walden, Alex Walsh, Tim Andrews and Aiden Curry combined to win the 200 medley relay for the Hawks. Nick Andrews took first in the 200 free, while Ryan Kornacki won the 200 IM.

Nick Andrews went on to win the 100 free, while Walden won the 500 free.

Curry, Walsh, Tim Andrews and Nick Andrews combined to win the 200 free relay. Walsh, Walden, Nick and Tim Andrews also won the 400 free relay. BOYS BASKETBALL

Hendricken 72, Cumberland 40

Bishop Hendricken rolled past Cumberland on Tuesday evening.

Senior captain David Lynch had a big game for the Hawks, putting up a game-high 23 points. Eze Wali scored 22 and Azmar Abdullah 14 in the victory.

The Hawks will next take on Barrington on the road this Thursday evening. BOYS HOCKEY

Moses Brown 5, Warwick 3

The Warwick co-op hockey team is still searching for its first win as it fell to Moses Brown last week.

Warwick took an early 2-0 lead on goals from Ryan Barlow and Sean Mullaney, but it would be all Moses Brown in the final two periods. Barlow added a second goal in the second period.
