The Toll Gate girls soccer team stayed in the thick of the Division II playoff hunt by beating visiting Middletown 2-0 on Tuesday night. Freshman Emma McIntyre and Ava Ficher scored Toll Gate’s goals while keeper Alanna Pereira stopped four shots to secure the shutout win.
The Titans will wrap up their regular season on Friday when they host Moses Brown.
Chariho 3, Pilgrim 1
The Pats fell to the Chargers earlier this week. Lorelai Leddy scored the team’s lone goal while Sloan Hogan made 14 saves in net for Pilgrim.
BOYS SOCCER
Pilgrim 4, Toll Gate 1
The Pats picked up a much-needed win on Monday when they topped crosstown rival Toll Gate.
Jackson Bromage, Haiden Riess and Josiel Zuniga all scored for the Pats in the win while keeper Chris Williams recorded four saves.
FIELD HOCKEY
Smithfield 5, Toll Gate 0
The Titans were shut out by the Sentinels on Tuesday. Goalie Abby O’Connor finished with seven saves in the cage. The team tied Cranston 1-1 the previous game and Delanie Wheeler scored the team’s goal.
FOOTBALL
Davies 42, Toll Gate 16
The Titans losing streak continued in East Providence last week when they fell to Davies on the road.
Quarterback Nicholas Bruner hit Jackson Kavanaugh on a touchdown pass while Knol Martin rushed for another score to pace the Toll Gate offense.
Hendricken 29, Central 13
The Hawks remained unbeaten in Rhode Island when they ran past host Central last Friday night.
Quarterback Dylan Lynch connected with Michael DaSilva for a score while later hitting Sebastian Nault through the air for another touchdown. Will Mascena and Jeremy Seidi each rushed for touchdowns in the win.
