The appearance at Green Airport Monday of the second-largest commercial transport plane in the world, a Ukrainian AN124, prompted calls to the Warwick Beacon on Monday. The front of the airplane lifted early that morning to engorge American Magic, the sleek, high-speed New York Yacht Club boat that will complete for the America’s Cup next March in Auckland, New Zealand. The high-tech, 75-foot vessel that lifts out of the water on foils has a support team of roughly 140 people, 40 of who are permanently based in Rhode Island, according to Will Ricketson, communications director for American Magic.
