Drive-in donations

For years Lincoln Smith has run a concert at the Lakewood Baptist Church for the benefit of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. That wasn’t possible this year, so Smith went ahead with a drive-in food and monetary event held May 30 in a parking lot across from the church on Atlantic Avenue. By the end of the drive, more than 1,270 pounds of food and $3,600 in donations had been collected. Food donations, seen being packed into a truck by Doug Ray went to the Westbay Community Action Marketplace. The monetary donations went to the Food Bank. Pictured at XX are the volunteers involved practicing social distancing: back from left, Pastor Ron Provencal, Robert Smith and Tony Lemonde; and front from left, Doug and Lianne Ray, Lincoln and Donna Smith, and Cecily Douthit.
