Gaspee team takes oath

The Gaspee Days Committee installation ceremonies were held Thursday evening at the Aspray Boathouse in Pawtuxet, with Cranston Mayor Allan Fung giving remarks and state Rep. Joseph McNamara administering the oath of office. President Gina Dooley, seen here with first vice president Seven Miller in a champagne toast, is planning a 2021 celebration with all the same events as in prior years, with the hope that restrictions prompted by the coronavirus are history by early May. If that’s not the case, Dooley says the committee will need to adjust and will be looking for events that comply with COVID-19 protocols at that time. In addition to Dooley and Miller, the following officers were sworn in: Karen Kenney, second vice president; Ann-Marie Richards, treasurer; Patrice Concannon, corresponding secretary; Erin Flynn, recording secretary and Ryan Giviens, past president. The following were installed as directors: Tina Bingham, Carol Deming, Donna Fieldman and Jerry Peshka. (Herald photos)
