The vital music ministry of Greenwood Church has returned to its full slate of programs for all ages after over a year of virtual offerings due to pandemic restrictions. The adult choir of 30 current members seeks experienced singers to join a thriving program of traditional organ and choral music led by highly skilled staff members and four paid section leaders for inspirational weekly worship with timeless hymns, choral works, and organ music. Upcoming events include a festival of carols in December accompanied by brass, organ, and percussion, and a special candlelight Christmas Eve service featuring selections from Vivaldi's Gloria with string accompaniment and soloists. The program is directed by John Black, who also serves as assistant conductor of the Providence Singers and has recently given organ recitals at venues including Holy Cross Cathedral in Boston and First Presbyterian Church of Pompano Beach, Florida.
