The Conimicut Village Association and Woodbury Union Church tree lighting was held Friday at Donovan Park in the village center. To the delight of kids who shared their wishes and had a chance to be photographed with the jolly elf, Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived by fire truck. And then there was the unexpected visit by former Mayor Charles Donovan, (pictured above with Mayor Frank Picozzi) who is recovering from a fall, and his family. The park is named for George Donovan, Charles father, who worked for the city for many years. Events in the church usually follow the lighting, but because of the pandemic it was all outside including the refreshments and time with Santa. (Warwick Beacon photos)
