Shirley E. (Leuba) Curtis, 91, who died Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick, was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Curtis III. Prior to his death on January 16, 2019, Ed and Shirley celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on June 10, 2018.

Born in Warwick, RI to the late Wilfred and Madeline (Aldrich) Leuba, she had resided in Coventry for over 60 years. She worked in retail as a manager at Shepherd’s Store in Warwick and Seena’s in West Warwick. She was a member of East Greenwich United Methodist Church; previously of Shepherd of the Valley United Methodist Church, Scituate. She was a Special Lady of Manchester Lodge #12 F&AM, Coventry. She enjoyed needlework and sewing, and time spent with family, as well as traveling in her later years with Edward.

Shirley is survived by two children: Jeffrey Curtis of Bristol, CT and Laurie Lovgren (husband John) of Warwick, RI; her brother Robert Leuba of Mystic, CT.; three granddaughters: Kirsten Morrissey, Leah Lovgren and Megan Curtis and four great-grandchildren.

Her family wishes to thank all the staff of Brentwood Nursing Home for their loving care of their mom.

A private graveside service will be held in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, Post Road, North Kingstown. Burial will follow.
