Warwick Continental American’s Sinapi Law team topped Papa’s Ice Cream 2-1 to claim the Majors Championship.
Sinapi scored its two runs in the top of the first inning which proved to be enough as the team’s pitching and defense came up big from there to clinch the win.
Tyler Dale accounted for two of the team’s three hits and recorded an RBI by knocking in Lennox O’Connell. Dale made his way around the bases to add the second run.
Dale was also stellar on the mound for Sinapi, getting the win by pitching five innings and allowing just one hit, no earned runs and striking out 13 batters. Alex Doucette came on in relief and allowed no runs while striking out three batters to earn the save and close out the win.
Max Garcia scored Papa’s Ice Cream’s only run in the first inning and Miller McGuinness had the team’s only hit. McGuinness was also sharp on the mound, pitching four innings and striking out 10 batters. Landon Engstrom struck out four in two innings of relief.
Sinapi finished the season with a 10-4 record. Papa’s Ice Cream entered the contest undefeated. The two clubs faced off twice in the regular season, with Papa’s winning each contest by a combined three runs.
