By ALEX SPONSELLER The Warwick Continental American Little League wrapped up its season last week and crowned three champions in its Majors, AAA-American and AAA-National divisions.

Sheridan Electric took home the Majors title for the third straight year, while Enos Chiropractic won the AAA-American championship and Tom Ford Law won the AAA-National division.

Sheridan Electric had a tremendous campaign as it sought to complete the three-peat. The club went a perfect 15-0 in the regular season and would win all three of its postseason competitions to get the job done for the third straight year. Sheridan showed some resiliency in the championship game, having to come from behind from an early 3-2 deficit to win.

Sheridan Electric Manager Jamie Luisi, who has coached the club for the past three years, was proud of his team, especially the 12 year olds that were essential pieces each year.

“It was a journey, I drafted these 12 year olds when they were 10. They were very talented the first year but did not do so well in the regular season. But then when the playoffs came things started to click and we were able to win, then win again these past two years as well. They work hard, a lot of them play extra baseball with AAU, they’re always involved, go to camps. I tried to be very structured with them at practice to get them ready as well. They have that chemistry, they like playing together and every year we’ve gotten better,” said Luisi, who also credited the four newcomers for this season. “It was a special group. We had four new players this year, we had new players come on that helped each year and that’s important, too.”

Despite everything going on during the COVID-19 pandemic, Luisi was happy to see many of his players get to play their final Little League season together and finish on top.

“We weren't even sure if we were going to play baseball, so we were just happy to get out on the field. We put in everything to make sure the kids were safe, we didn’t have much time to practice, but the kids were happy once they got back on the field and got to play together. These kids love playing together and some have played together for six, seven years, so they were happy to be able to play this year,” Luisi said. “It wasn’t easy, but to win it, go 15-0 in the regular season, 18-0 (overall), it was amazing.” Here are the names of all of the WCA champions for the summer season:
