Mary-Jo Vacca, 73, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late George R. Vacca. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Henry E. Barth Sr. and Catherine “Kay” (Tatalo) Barth.
Mary-Jo was a graduate of U.R.I. and worked as an English Teacher for the Warwick School Department for over 30 years. She also worked at Ross Simons in Cranston for 25 years.
Married for 45 years after meeting working together at Sears. Besides her 2 dogs Betty and Georgia, her greatest joy and therapy came from cooking for friends and family.
She was the loving mother of Joseph G. Vacca of Cranston, and the late Gia-Marie Vacca; cherished grandmother of Gianna Morant and Avyanna Henry; dear sister of Joseph Barth of Arizona, Henry E. Barth Jr. of Warwick, Frederick Barth of North Kingstown, and Peter Barth of Warwick; sister-in-law to Torie Barth and Alysson Barth; adored aunt to Joel Barth, Amy Barth, Tyler Barth, Jarred Barth, Adam Barth, Lucas Barth, Noah Barth, Megan Ursini, Courtney Jandron; and godmother of Christin Pahlow of CT.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Inurnment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Friday, August 23rd from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
