Roberta A. (Wilde) Vale, 68, a Retired U.S. Air Force Veteran, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Bradford P. Vale, to whom she shared over 40 years of marriage and who devoted himself to caring for her during her illness. Born in Warwick, she was one of seven children born to the late James A. and June E. (Belbin) Wilde.
A graduate of Veterans’ High School where she was a cheerleader she went on to join the United States Air Force and took tremendous pride in her military service. She had a military career that spanned over 30 years, 10 of which were spent active duty.
She loved her animals, going to the beach with her friends, tending to her garden and decorating (especially for the holidays). She always had music playing in the house and enjoyed ‘grilling and chilling’ with a glass of cheap wine. Along with her husband, Friday nights were often spent playing cards with friends and she and her daughter loved taking short road trips for lunch. She encouraged all of her daughter’s adventures, no matter how outlandish they seemed. She was funny, sarcastic, witty, the life of the party and was always ready with a good joke. Her family remembers her as a strong and independent woman who was a force to be reckoned with but more importantly, as a wife and mom who loved them unconditionally.
Roberta was the devoted mother of Kelsey and Evan Vale and the sister of Eleanor Mooney, Nancy Bouchard, Andrea Magiera, twin brother Chris Wilde, June Wilde and Michael Wilde, all of whom she loved fiercely.
A Visitation will be held Friday, January 10, 2025,from 3-6pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 6pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick.
