for the Arts – Pulp Fiction

Join us for the opening reception of our latest exhibit:  Pulp Fiction:  Paper, Prints, Collage and Books, juried by Carol Strause  FitzSimonds.  March 9, 6 – 9 p.m.  This is a great opportunity to view the artwork, chat with friends and congratulate our exhibiting artists.  If you are not able to join us for the opening, please visit during gallery hours, Wed – Sat, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.


West Warwick
Public Library and Neighborhood Forest Tree

This year the West Warwick Public Library is participating in the 14th Annual Neighborhood Forest free tree program, whose aim is to provide free trees to kids every spring.  Please fill out the online form before March 10, and receive a free tree (6-12 inches) during Earth Week, April 22-30.  This year parents will have the option to purchase additional trees and other items from Neighborhood Forest, too.   Registration also includes the Neighborhood Forest Children’s Book.  Register on-line: https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/parent-registration:  Institution Name:  West Warwick Public Library


Chili Cook Off

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church (111 West Shore Road) is hosting a Chili Cook Off on March 11 at 6 p.m. The cost is $10 per person or $25 per family; children under 6 are free. Please call the office at 737-3127 for reservations. If you would like to enter your chili let us know that – and make a crockpot full! Prizes will be awarded


March is Women's Month and The Clouds Hill Museum

What were the roles played by women in society and at home?  Who held the world's records for mountain climbing at the beginning of the 20th century?  What did women do to help in the 1st and 2nd World Wars?  How did women fare trying to enter traditionally male occupations and while enjoying sports, while breaking free of traditional clothing restrictions?   Learn about Rhode Island's earliest female inventors, publishers, stock owners, and more.  This wonderful exhibit is open on Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12 from 1 to 3:30 pm without reservation. If you can't make it during these times, call us to arrange a tour through April 2. General admission rates apply. 4157 Post Rd, East Greenwich.


The Warwick Women’s Club (GFWC) Meeting

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Warwick Women’s Club will be meeting on Tuesday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center, 821 West Shore Road, Warwick (big white house). The club meets on the second Tuesday of every month from September to May.

 The Warwick Women's Club is a civic/community-minded club which provides funds for local organizations such as the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center and provides services and support for organizations such as the Norwood Boys' and Girls' Club, RI Community Food Bank, Project Undercover, FRIENDS WAY,  Amenity Aid and House of Hope.  There are many other activities that the club is involved in throughout the year including Pinwheels for Prevention of Child Abuse, thank you cards and Valentine cards for our veterans, and activities relating to domestic abuse.  Anyone wishing to attend this meeting, please call Carol at 738-1279.  For further information about this organization please visit our website at www.gfwcri.org.

The Warwick Center for the Arts, 3259 Post Road, Warwick is holding community barn dance on Saturday, March 18, 7:30 p.m. (intro session at 7:15 p.m.).  Price: $12.00 per person;  students (with ID, please) $8;  families $30.


Food For the Soul Grab and Go Meal Site

Asbury United Methodist Church & Lakewood Baptist Church working together to feed your soul! Monthly grab and go meal site located at, Lakewood Baptist Church, 255 Atlantic Ave, Warwick. Scheduled dates to pick up meals are every 3rd Saturday of the month, 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. March 18, April 19, May 17.


RI Society Sons of the American Revolution
to host Workshop

Do you think you have a Revolutionary War Patriot? With America approaching the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Sons of the American Revolution will be hosting a workshop, free to the public, on Wednesday, March 22.  6 p.m. at the Warwick Public Library, 600 Sandy Ln., Warwick.  You will meet with members of SAR to learn about basic genealogy and to help you begin your family research.  Just maybe you will find out if you have a Revolutionary Patriot Ancestor. Mental Health
& Spirituality II

 On March 25, 2023, from 6-8 p.m., Spring Green Church will once again host an informative program regarding mental health. This presentation, the second of a series, will feature Treatment/Prevention Specialists, youth, and adults who have experienced mental health challenges.

 Bob Houghtaling, the Director of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Prevention Services for the Town of East Greenwich, has organized the program while working with Spring Green staff. Annual RI Community Food Bank Benefit Concert

Lakewood Baptist Church will host its annual Rhode Island Community Food Bank benefit concert on Sunday, April 2, 255 Atlantic Ave., Warwick, at 6:30 p.m.  Refreshments will be available after the concert.  Begin Holy Week with good music and fellowship.  The performing churches are Lakewood Baptist Church, Norwood Baptist Church, Spring Green Memorial Church, Warwick Central Baptist Church, Woodbury Union Presbyterian Church, Second Baptist Church, South Hadley, MA and Acoaxet Chapel Praise Team, Westport, MA.

Admission is at least one non-perishable food item (all of the food will go to West Bay Marketplace).  A free will offering will also be taken (checks payable to RI Community Food Bank).  If you are unable to attend and would like to donate, please make checks out to: RI Community Food Bank and send to Lakewood Baptist Church, attention: Lincoln Smith.

Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice (VNH&H) is asking for individuals to support their hospice programs by giving $20.00 or more to their Hearts for Hospice campaign. Calling All Cribbage Players

Do you play cribbage? If so, consider joining a small group of cribbage players every Friday at 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., who meet and play at the East Greenwich Community Center, Pierce Street, East Greenwich. Citizenship Prep Classes at WPL

Prepare for the U.S. Naturalization Interview with Citizen Preparation classes at the Warwick Public Library. Practice citizenship vocabulary, learn the necessary civics content, and work on interview skills using the N-400 application form. Classes meet on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon, starting Sept. 25. Sign up at the library. For more information, call (401) 455-8041. These free classes are offered by the RI Family Literary Initiative.


Get a Job Thursdays

We Make RI, an organization that provides free manufacturing training, hosts a series of job fairs every Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon, 200 First Ave., Cranston. We Make RI offer job seekers a chance to meet with employers, get career counseling, resume help and more. Some employers include Swissline Precision, Admiral Packaging, KB Surfaces, Warwick Hanger and Hitachi Cable.
