Wayne Farrell

Wayne Farrell, formerly of Warwick and Cranston, passed away in Naples, FL on Nov. 21,2020 with his devoted wife Mirasol by his side. They were married for 25 yrs. Wayne was the son of the late J. Norman Farrell and Miriam (Wells) Farrell of Warwick.

Wayne graduated from Aldrich HS. He entered the Army and was a paratrooper with the 82 Airborne out of Ft. Bragg, NC. He was also trained as a sniper because of his marksmanship. He was well known as a pianist and graduated with advanced degrees from the Juilliard School in piano performance. He had studied with Sascha Gorodnitzky. He taught music in several schools throughout the state of RI. He was an organist and choir director in several area churches. He became a marathon runner and received several certificates for running the Boston Marathon. When he lived on the Island of Kauai he was hired by Charo to play at her restaurant. He collected snakes as a hobby and was on national TV's "I’ve Got A Secret" for having the largest snake in captivity. Anderson, an Anaconda was 18 ft. long and weighed 250 lbs. Anderson was later donated to the Bronx Zoo where he remained a popular attraction

He leaves a son, Hillary Farrell of MA, a daughter, Rayna Granger of TN, three granddaughters: Kayla Ribeiro, Shannon Lee Granger and Haley Farrell and one grandson Zachery Farrell. He leaves three sisters: Myrna Howe, Meredith Ruggieri (husband Jack) and Brenda Muoio (husband Ron). He was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Moodie. He leaves many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was young at heart and knowledgeable on many subjects. He was particularly interested in space exploration and he had hoped to live to see us colonize Mars.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Edgewood Congregational Church in Cranston.
