The Warwick Continental American All-Stars blanked West Warwick 15-0 in three innings on Tuesday evening.

WCA starting pitcher Enzo Gianfrancesco tossed a no-hitter while fanning two batters with only one walk.

At the plate, Gianfrancesco chipped in two singles and two runs batted in, and was hit by a pitch.

“Enzo pitched well,” WCA manager Joe Gianfrancesco said. “He’s been working hard all season on and off the field. He’s been having a great all-star season. Every game, he’s been getting a lot of hits. Today, he threw a lot of strikes and he stayed in it.”

J.D. Lagor started on the bump for West Warwick and pitched two innings and struck out three.

WCA first baseman Drew Zablocki had a single and a triple, with two RBI, while Owen Sowa registered two singles and two RBI.

Sowa drove in the game-winning runs in the third frame in Gianfrancesco and Gabriella Boudreau.

Along with scoring the final run, the left fielder, Boudreau, recorded a two-run single, plus a walk.

“She’s been coming through big-time for us,” Gianfrancesco said.

WCA scored three runs in the first inning, eight runs in the second, and four runs in the third.

“I’m proud of the boys today,” Gianfrancesco said. “We stayed positive. We pitched well, we hit well, and we fielded well. Overall, it was a good day for us.”

And the manager hopes his team can stay hot through both the district and the state tournaments.

“If we play the way we did today and all the kids come together and stay positive, I think we have a good shot at hopefully going all the way,” Gianfrancesco said.”

WCA played again on Wednesday night, but that score was unavailable at press time.
