What is missed most

To the Editor,

COVID 19 GO AWAY!

Like everyone else, everywhere, I am tired of being housebound.

Here are some of the things I miss most.

I miss helping to plan and volunteer with my friends, for the events put on by The Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter, (all of which had to be canceled because of you, virus)! I miss all of my volunteer friends, staff and the seniors who I’ve met while serving meals at the Pilgrim Senior Center. I miss going to the Roger Williams Park Zoo to volunteer with all my friends and of course I miss seeing all the wonderful animals. I especially miss the Warwick Public Library and I miss the “Hot Bar” at Dave’s Market. I miss meeting my friends for breakfast or lunch.

And of course there are some things I am grateful and surprised by.

Thank you to Kevin Boyles and all the staff at Pilgrim Senior Center for making sure all of the volunteers and seniors are faring well. Thank you for my great neighbor who brought me food on Easter Sunday, and another neighbor who brought me lasagna another day. Thank you to all my neighbors who have called me to make sure I was doing okay. And most important, thank you God for so far keeping me safe from this terrible virus.

As the saying goes, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. I guess all of us are doing that. Hopefully we will all come out of this better people.
