(Boring, One Set Movie)
We admit that it was an innovative concept.
Pick a spot (New England living room). Set up a camera. Let the action take place mostly in front of it.
Sort of like a stage play viewed behind a proscenium arch.
Taken from a graphic novel by Richard McGuire, the movie counts on the unique approach and the star power of Tom Hanks and Robin Wright to pull it off.
The problem is that the story is stilted and boring. It starts with the native land, takes us through families who have lived there from the 1910s to the present, finally zeroing in on Hank’s life as an insurance salesman…not the most exciting occupation.
It is all about good times and bad times in everyone’s life, including the highs and lows of marriage, children, daily living and death.
No car chases or axe murderers to liven this one up.

(Super Senior Hero)
Super Senior Hero Liam Neeson strikes again in his patented role as an aging tough guy who comes to the rescue of damsels in distress.
Neeson is 72 years old but he can still take on a gang of bad guys without working up a sweat.
This time around he is a former boxer who has lived a sordid life, rejected by his children, and working for a gangster (Ron Perlman).
He gets involved in a human trafficking network, shows sympathy for one of the women and decides to all of a sudden become a good guy and save her.
The problem is that he has CTE, which is a rare and deadly brain disorder caused by too many knocks of the head and is quickly losing it.
Will he make it in time to once again save the world?
It just may be his last shot.
