Richard Nelson White, 82, of Warwick, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was the husband of Joan R. (Eaton) White. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Nelson and Muriel (Chappelle) White.
Richard was raised in Warwick and was a graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School, and New England Tech. He proudly served in the U. S. Air Force for 20 years, including the Vietnam War. Richard worked as a Police Dispatcher for the City of Warwick for sixteen years before retiring in 2008. He was an active member of Asbury Methodist Church.
Alongside his wife, Joan, he is survived by his daughters Cheryl L. White of Warwick and Carrie E. (Michael) Toomey of Burrillville, his brother Robert N. White (Madelyn) of Warwick. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Dennis J. White.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 10AM at the Asbury Methodist Church, 143 Ann Mary Brown Drive, Warwick, RI 02888. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Interment with Military Honors will be at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
