William E. Williams, 89, of Chapman's Ave died Friday peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late June (Swift) Williams.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Carmell (Barassi) Williams. Bill was a truck driver for Teamster Local 251, MacDonald Watson, Western Oil and RIPTA. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Swinging Squares Square Dancing Group, Pilgrim Senior Center, The Rosario Club, St. Mary’s Society, 618 Retirees and the Sons of Italy. Lo-Jack player as well as baseball and bowling coach.

He leaves 3 children, Paula Jones (Bill Trzcinski) of Nashua, NH, Thomas Williams (Patrica M. Valletta) of Pawtucket, RI and William Williams, Jr. (Pam Peloso) of West Warwick, a brother, Richard Gagne, 2 sisters, Barbara Mello of Copper City, FL and Roseann Travis of Orlando, FL, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Robert E. Williams, Robert Gagne and Edna Gagne.

The funeral services will be held in the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick on Thursday at 10 a.m. to which relatives and friends are invited. Masks and social distancing will be observed. Burial with Military Honors will be held at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m.
