On Monday, the Warwick Police Department held its winter promotional and awards ceremony at City Council Chambers in Warwick City Hall. Sergeant Jedidiah Pineau was promoted to Lieutenant and Detectives Sokphannareth “Nate” Chea, Christopher “C.J.” Gillis, and John Zaborski were promoted to Sergeant. Officers Bed Bratko, Tyler Stone, and Frank Montanaro, Jr. were elevated to detectives. Previously sworn in officers Alyssa Comeau, Frank Matarese, Katerina Athaide, Edmund Pierce, III, Brent Giles, Charles Vella, Alejandro Martinez and Robert Macera were pinned by their family and friends. The following Warwick Police personnel received Awards and Recognitions: Officer Justin Martin – Medal of Bravery, Officer Thomas Greene – Life Saving, Officer Stephanie Pabis – Life Saving, Officer Aaron Steere – Patrol Officer of the Year, Detective Matthew Smith – Detective of the Year, Officer Russel Brown – Mayor’s Officer of the Year and Robert Coogan- Community Recognition Award.
