RI should seize this as an opportunity to be a leader in something for a change.
Marijuana should be no more taboo to society than alcohol, the latter of which has been shown to be much more harmful to society.
MA is going to do it one way or another by next year.
Since they actually have democracy and let the people force an issue on to the ballot for a vote bypassing the legislature, if the legislature fails to legalize it this year, the people will next year.
If RI fails to act we will yet again be a day late and a dollar short to our prosperous neighbors to the north that actually have a good economy.
Guaranteed if MA legalizes it rhode islanders will happily drive less than an hour from anywhere within the state to give their tax dollars to MA.
