In the Constitution, state legislatures vote to approve amendments to the Constitution. I said “IF” the people of each state were given the chance to vote, slavery would have been abolished. Elected officials, for political reasons, do not always vote their conscience. The American people should be allowed to determine if changes to the Constitution should be made.
