I'm guessing the total number above is over 400 honor students. Wow! Many congratulations to the students but also to the teachers who got them there. Imagine the stress of teaching that many top quality students at an "honor-roll" level while you're watching 65 co-worker teachers with over 10 years on the job, get laid off in one shot, and all the while you're working without a contract.

I can only imagine the anxiety, anger and resentment I would have if I was in that position. The School Committees refusal to negotiate is unconscionable. The teachers have done their part. The proven results are posted above. The Warwick teachers aren't just going through the motions, are they? Now is not the time to refuse to "talk". I'm not saying what the contract should say. That is between the teachers and the School Committee. I'm saying (loudly) that there needs to be dialogue! Damn it School Committee! Talk to your teachers! And before one or more readers say it; am I pandering to the teachers? Yes I am! Do they deserve to be pandered to about this? Yes they do!

Enjoy your Summer.
