It would help the tax payers if Mr. Howell from the Beacon actually printed the teacher salaries. Other than new, non-tenured teachers, they average well north of 70,000 for about 160 working days per year. Their vacation alone is unbelievable given their schedule of weekends, holidays and major breaks off that don't count. Add personal days, sick days, professional days, and they work on average less than 140 days per year.
Nice work if you can get it. Also, they took raised during the tough times when the police and fire did not. Maybe the police/FD should tell the mayor to pound sand and get the teachers to five first.
