The Thames Barrier in the United Kingdom and the Zuiderzee Works & the Delta Works in the Netherlands have proven that man made barriers can control rising sea levels. My November 6, 2012 Letter to the Editor in the Warwick Beacon, “Put energy supplies underground”, describes how barriers to control rising sea levels could be constructed in the Narragansett Bay area.
