The men and women of our police department risk their lives every day, 365 days a year. In Dallas they do it, according to their chief-of-police, for $40,000 dollars a year. I know that I couldn't do it at any salary.

Here in Warwick we have the highest possible quality in our fire and police departments. Our neighborhoods are almost 100% safe. On the one hand, that service is priceless. On the other, there is only so much the taxpayer can afford to pay. Finding an agreement that is fair to all becomes more and more of a challenge when taxes go up every year for 16 years in a row. I can't promise that it will be easy but I will promise that I won't give up until we find it. I am dedicated to "cut taxes and cut spending". The real work begins in January. I will be there, and I will be fair. The police and fire representatives I have spoken to have also agreed to be fair. I honestly believe they will.

Enjoy your Summer.
