Dear John Stark,

In the last 2 years I have learned a college tuition amount of facts and figures about those "antiquated entities" as you call them and I agree with you wholeheartedly. They are antiquated! They are costing the taxpayers a fortune and they don't benefit the recipients nearly as much as they should. In fact, you could pay less as an individual than as an employee, and that doesn't consider what the "employer-paid" portion is. I will take a long hard look at them and I will find a solution that benefits us all. I promise. When I had Blue Cross for the 51 employees of my mortgage company, Bankers Mortgage Corporation, we did an honest cost comparison and learned that the employee portion of the bill was higher than if the employee walked into Blue Cross as an individual. Add the "employer-paid" amount to the total premium to it and it was easy to understand why Blue Cross makes over a billion dollars a year. John, I intend on making that same honest comparison in 2017. Want to help? Call me at 401-338-9900. Better yet, I will be at the Food Truck event Thursday 9/8/2016 from 4:30 on. Stop by and the coffee is on me.

Thanks for your kind words John.

Rick
