Shame on this school committee.
They cite declined enrollment at Wickes when this year I know of a few kindergarteners that were literally turned away in registration and sent elsewhere because they were at capacity.
They cite the smaller size of Holden, while ignoring the fact that that smaller size also comes with the best performing school in the district. Maybe, just maybe, there is something to that?!
They cite the fantastic features of John Brown Francis as to why it is the top candidate for repurposing, as if the children already learning there are not worthy of those features themselves.
Pardon my language, but this whole thing is a sh!t show. They need to fix the messes and injustices already being suffered by the students in this district before they even consider more moves. Hopefully by then people will have woken up and we will have a new school committee. Elections are coming people, always keep that in mind.
