Richard, unfortunately it did cost the tax payers money. The Rhode Island State House refused to light the State House for charity. I had to personally fundraise and gather money from my friends and family in order to make this happen. It was really difficult to even get anyone to listen to me. I had to have Senator McCaffrey get me in touch with the right people in order for someone to listen. It was quite a tough project to accomplish but I'm happy that it finally did!
