The governor sold pension reform on the fact that the state would go bankrupt if the retirees did not take a cola freeze and major changes in the pension system. After scaring everyone, we suddenly have money for lower/no car taxes and free tuition for 2 years to the tune of 50-80 million a year? I guess in just 4 years, the state has turned around? Me thinks someone is cooking the books and either a, sold the state workers/retirees a bill of goods (which means they also decieved the courts) or b, the promise of free tuition will cost taxpayers lots more taxes. Aren't our roads also so bad that you have to tax trucks? Aren't our schools a mess?
