Mayor Avedisian said that additional lease income from Westbay in the approximate amount of $26,400 annually would not "amount to a cash infusion that makes the building more viable."

He's wrong.

ANY cash infusion makes the "building more viable". The bigger the cash infusion, the better the impact.

Steve McAllister asks what is the rush? The answer is political. Avedisian wants this issue to be a forgotten act when the 2018 elections get here. He wants the seniors to vote for him in spite of this disservice. I sincerely hope that all seniors remember "Avedisian-Closing-Buttonwoods". The election is 20 months away.

The building was under-used for years. I agree. But rather than take it away from 300 to 400 seniors that depend on it weekly I would find more profitable uses for it and I applaud Councilman McAllister to taking on a role of leadership rather than just giving up as the Mayor did. This is a problem that needs a solution, not a cancellation.

Happy Spring everyone.
