We are all relieved to learn that the fire alarms are now working, but the Mayor can't say he was unaware! That's not true. He has always known and he has never cared enough to do anything about it. I have pictures from December of 2015 (2015!) showing green paper taped over a broken fire alarm pull box. What is most notable is that this pull box was IN CITY HALL AT THE TAX ASSESSORS OFFICE! If Avedisian doesn't care enough about the fire safety of his city employees, it's understandable how he could be so dismissive about the schools. That attitude reflected on the School Committee who caused this problem and it took the uproar of the families to correct it. Their outrage was actually what caused the repairs.

For the record, that will never happen with me. People MUST be the top priority. The safety of the students and the employees will always come first. Teachers contracts are next, again focusing on the people involved. Auditorium seats are way down the list and 2018 is right around the corner.

Happy Easter everyone.
