The School Committee (SC) has received OVER A BILLION DOLLARS since 2009. That money came from the taxpayers and the SC isn't accountable to them or anyone! But they should be! Before we give them another dime we should have an independent audit from an outside source. There are, for example, millions of dollars in a cash reserve for their health benefit plan. In the last 18 years not one penny was withdrawn from that cash reserve. You know why? Because we don't NEED a cash reserve for the health benefits! The SC just needs a place to store money because they're running out! Meanwhile we have students without Chromebooks, teachers without contracts, raw sewerage dripping from the ceilings and a growing mold problem sending our students home sick. Audit the SC. Release the "stored-away" funds and correct the problems BEFORE we give the SC another dime! Every time I say that I get a ration of insults from the SC. It proves I'm on to something.
